Leadership The Way I Approach The Idea Of Leadership

Leadership has been an ever-changing concept for me. The people that I have encountered while serving in ministry have greatly influenced my definition of leadership. I have seen my paradigm on leadership evolve as a result of their influence in my life. I look at leadership as a potential and ability to contribute significantly to an organization, community and to the society. At various stages of my life I have experienced significant contributions, sometimes in a formal set up and sometimes in absolutely informal manner. Therefore, in this paper, I will discuss four revelations that have shaped the way I approach the idea of leadership. In my childhood, many years ago in my country of origin Ethiopia Christianity was counted as crime and if you became a Christian you definitely jailed, tortured, isolated from society and also you might be killed. During this era, my grandfather was a well-known person of the locality, he has been known for discipline and values among the whole city. He was also traditional lawyer and landlord who command good practice. During this time 80 percent of his children became Christian while he and my grandmothers are remaining Muslim. The puritans believed that the natives would try to invade and destroy their religious community. The belief remained even after the war has ended which leads to the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, which occurred in Salem, Massachusetts, where the citizens, mainly women, were accused of practicing witchcraft and glorifying the Devil, similarly to what was thought of the Natives. The employee is encouraged to discuss and concerns with management as to allow for training where needed. After the 2 hour session with management within 2 days Human Resources will meet and train to the â€Å"big picure† of what the CODE means. This will include describing disciplinary actions due to non-compliance of the CODE as well as other human resource materials. – Upon completing both 2 hour sessions, the employee will be required to apply their s ignature to a copy of the MNPCG code of ethics, stating they will comply to all principles included above. This will get filed with all other employee documentation and become record. COMPLIANCE AND MONITORING MNPCG management is required to formally review this CODE of ethics annually. – MNPCG management will submit any request for changes to CODE no later than 10 days after one year annual review was last completed. This gives time for any inquires to be presented and responded to is conflict of interest or societal changes have occurred and need to be amended to the CODE. – All submissions of amendment requires must be sent to both MNPCG Leadership and Directors for review. No later than 10 days will the request be approved or denied. This organization is strengthened from continuous education and should annually revisit the codes in the form of auditing. This is to determine whether compliance is feasible and should be required. The changing climate which the world of non-profits resides in, may allow for additional codes or modifications based on societal changes. – During annual evaluation and audit of the MNPCG code of ethics Leadership will make sure that all members are given the required skills and experience for carrying out all duty that are required of them. By audit, each organization MNPCG serves will be stronger that all member comply. – Possible conflict of interest can surface and be resolved before damage is done with regards to client relationships. – Provides revised and updated policies on an annual basis from which Human Resource can pull information from during hiring, terminating and performance evaluation periods. – Provides a â€Å"source-of-truth† for all ethical standards of MNPCG. – After each audit, Leadership is required to provide any updates to Human Resources so that the CODE can be updated and posted to the company website for publication. COMPLIANCE AND REVIEW -MNPCG belongs to the National Institute of Non-Profit Consulting Firms which in accordance with government regulations, requires a formal review of ethics programs for all it’s members on a rotating 3 year cycle based on member enrollment. – 3 year rotating cycle means that as membership allows, ethics programs reviews are done by sharing the responsibility of review with the members. NINPCF will review each member every 3 years and each member will in-turn review every year one member’s ethic program. Filippo Brunelleschi Perspective In Art Essay PerspectiveUse of perspective in art finds its root in one man, Filippo Brunelleschi. Although we don’t know for sure, it is likely that Brunelleschi also invented linear, or scientific perspective. Donatello’s â€Å"The Feast of Herod† is the earliest surviving example of scientific perspective, which is established through the use of a â€Å"vanishing point†, an imaginary single point on the page in which all the parallel lines meet. Donatello’s Feast of Herod was a groundbreaking work by that day’s standards, and a complete failure in the fulfillment of compositional requirements of traditional classical or medieval standards. The focal point of the piece, the presentation of St. John’s head to Herod, is in the far left corner, and the crowd watching is clustered into the right corner. Upon examination of the action, however, Donatello’s intention is clear; by placing the people in this way, the gesture and emotion of the sce ne is more implicit and effective. It is also more clearly established that the scene does not end at the focal point, it in fact continues off into every direction, an impression more clearly made with his use of scientific perspective. This â€Å"window† view into the scene was a radical step, and would influence how the picture plane was to be seen from that point on. Another important milestone in the history of perspective is Pietro Perudino’s â€Å"The Delivery of the Keys†. Painted in 1482, this work employs a grave, symmetrical structure, a tool he used to emphasize the importance of the scene being represented: The authority of St. Peter as the first pope, and all of his successors, rests on his having received the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven from Christ himself. The onlookers are all rendered with powerfully individualized faces. Equally powerful is the vast expanse of the almost surreal background. The spatial clarity, established by the use of mathematically precise perspective, is the influence of Brunelleschi. Andrea Mantegna was another 15th century painter. He was a prodigy that rendered in paint with skill from the age of 16 on. With the painting â€Å"St. James Led to His Execution† Mantegna established himself as a person who wasn’t afraid to break with traditional painting techniques, and adds a darin g touch by painting from a ground up view of the scene. This was used because the painting was hung so tha the bottom of the painting was at the viewer’s eye level. Because of this the architecture looms intimidatingly, and is made more convincing by his use of scientific perspective.His desire for authenticity can be seen in every small detail, including the Roman soldiers’ costumes. It even extends to the use of wet drapery patterns, an invention of classical Greek sculpture that was then passed onto the Romans. We can also find a reference to Donatello in Mantegna’s rendering of the lean, tense bodies of the Roman soldiers. The intensity that Mantegna establishes by using these techniques hardly fits the subject matter, as the condemned saint, on the way to his execution, stops to bless a paralytic man and command him to walk. The onlookers facial expressions and gesture hint at how deeply this sight has stirred them. Mantegna has even painted a violent scene erupting off to the right as the crowd becomes agitated.
